    Illinois Central College
  • Youth Leadership Program of the Oakland Unified School District

The Youth Leadership Program works to increase the capacity of student leadership and involvement in school, community, and district-wide change. Students involved in the leadership program receive leadership trainings through a Leadership class, workshops, conferences, unique programs, and guest speakers. Leadership students exercise their leadership skills by participating in school-based activities, peer education, student-led research projects, conflict resolution, community service projects, and the All-City Council that represents student voice and involvement in district-wide reform, school site change, and community involvement. Leadership training increases academic achievement, personal empowerment, school involvement, and community participation.
